Sorry its a bit of a long read but trust me its worth reading.We set up for our almost 3 yr old to go here meant paying for a placement which was fine because it was within walking distance and others were a bit too far without a vehicle. Our visit seemed positive: welcoming, nice set up, lovely staff pretty much all the right things you would want as it would be the first time our little boy would be away with people we didnt know. On his first day I made sure I was there (before heading to work) alongside my wife and younger son. Now this is where things went south! We got there about a couple minutes to 9am. The staff took our son by the hand and told us we cannot come past the gates and we should have been early if we wanted to say bye properly (as it starts at 9)! (Remember its our first time leaving our son) With that in mind and new parents we thought a bit rude but that was the the policy etc so brushed it off....only to find that when my wife went to pick him up 15 minutes early (I was at work), she had to stay outside of the gate perimeter and could not come in to pick our OWN SON up and had to wait like the rest of the parents staff said!! WoW!My wife called me really upset and explained what had happened so I insisted she called them to ask the reasons why etc and the person on the phone said and I quote if you dont like what we do here then you dont have to bring him here!I got back and emailed them stating he would NOT be returning.!I can now say we have both of our children in the placements at ilchester community and on a scale of 1-10. This place -1 ilchester 10+WARNING to other parents: have your guard up and do not get sucked into the same thing we did! Hopefully the staff has changed by now (those staff responsible)
